WHY DO WE HAVE A UNIFORM ON THE JOB DAY?
We have a Uniform at Work Day to honour all reservists and volunteers in the Armed Forces, the Home Guard, the Emergency Management Agency, and the Coastal Rescue Service.

Uniform at Work Day is a chance to show how many people go the extra mile to help ensure a safe and secure society in Denmark.
Reservists and volunteers are ordinary people—craftsmen, office workers, schoolteachers, academics, and managers—who put on the uniform when they are needed.
In recent years, we’ve seen cyberattacks, hostile state interference with critical infrastructure, pandemics, extreme weather, supply chain challenges, and a world marked by uncertainty—including war in Europe. That’s why these volunteers and reservists are more important than ever.
On Uniform at Work Day, we honour their contribution.

BACKGROUND
The idea for Uniform at Work Day comes from our neighbouring countries. It began in the United Kingdom, where reservists wear their uniform to their civilian workplace on a designated day.
The concept later spread to Sweden and Norway, where a regular Uniform at Work Day has been held since 2019 and 2020, respectively. Since 2023, Denmark has also had its own annual Uniform at Work Day.
InterForce is behind the introduction of Uniform at Work Day in Denmark. You can learn more about InterForce by clicking here.

FACTS
In Denmark, we have chosen to hold Uniform at Work Day on the last Wednesday of September each year. In 2025, that will be on the 24th of September. On this day, all reservists and volunteers in the Armed Forces, the Home Guard, and the Emergency Management Agency are encouraged to wear their uniform to their civilian workplace.
However, participation is entirely voluntary. Ultimately, it is up to your workplace or place of study to decide whether wearing the uniform is permitted.
Participation in Uniform at Work Day is open to all reservists, volunteers, and companies. It is not limited to companies that are members of InterForce.
